KEN FLEMING aka THE GOON
SONGWRITER and FREAK ELITE
Ken has an extensive musical past dating back to 1980.
THE UNWANTED
The infamous Winnipeg Punk Band, with their 1st release...
"In Case of Emergency... KICK ASS!"
and their full-length BYO RECORDS release...
"Shattered Silence".
THE UNWANTED were also on "Something to Believe In", also on
BYO RECORDS. "Shattered Silence" is now a Canadian Punk Rock Classic... 20 years later.
GRAY SKIES
After THE UNWANTED, I moved to BC to make a go of life and music on the West Coast.
I hooked up with Devin Townshend and we formed GRAY SKIES, a FUCKIN WAY COOL BAND.
But Devi got picked up by Steve Vai and ended up doing Vocals and Guitar on Steve's Record...
"SEX and RELIGION". Oh well, I love you, Devi, you de$erved it all.
SNFU
A week later, I started playing Bass for SNFU.
I was a Hired Gun and that's just what it was.
We toured Europe for Two Months, and the only Good Press I got was a Georgia Straight Interview in which
the Band stated that I had "turned into SATAN on the Tour". They have been my Friends for Years and I love them like Brothers.
ECONOLINE CRUSH
It all began with a Phone call to Rob Morfitt.
I called him up to go for a Beer at the Cambie.
He replied with "You wanna play Six Shows with KISS?"
The period of Extensive Touring and Pro Shows that followed was a Great Time for me and I will never forget it.
TWIST
TWIST was the next band I recorded with. We released a full length album on I GROOVE RECORDS.
We toured and appeared on the TV talk show "OPEN MIKE" with Mike Bullard. Despite all the good things
that were happening, there were internal problems with TWIST. It's Too Bad because the talent within that band
was great and also wasted. But such is life. It's not always Smooth and Great. R.I.P. to TWIST.
DOG EAT DOGMA
Which leads us to the present future, and DOG EAT DOGMA... the band that is 'the shit'.
The Guys in this Band are all Solid and full of Power.
The New Record we made at GREENHOUSE STUDIOS is one of the Greatest Records I have been a part of.
